Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of Highways & Structures contracts. You will work within a highly skilled commercial team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard, adhering to NEC contract frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Manage and administer NEC contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Cost Control: Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and detailed cost analysis to achieve optimal financial outcomes.
- Valuations & Variations: Prepare valuations, process applications for payment, and assess variations in line with contract requirements.
- Subcontractor Management: Procure, appoint, and manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and project objectives.
- Claims & Dispute Resolution: Support the management of claims and disputes, providing detailed analysis and documentation as required.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to maintain positive working relationships and project progress.
- Reporting: Produce accurate project performance reports, including cost‑value reconciliation (CVR) and cash flow forecasts.
- Risk Management: Identify, analyse, and manage commercial risks associated with highways and structures contracts.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within highways, structures, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly in the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and IT skills, with proficiency in tools such as Excel and industry‑standard software.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organized, with an aptitude for meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or similar. Membership of RICS or equivalent professional body is highly desirable.
