About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager with proven 132kV project experience to take a leading role in Newark, 400kV BESS connection project. You’ll oversee project performance, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure quality, safety, and programme milestones are achieved — with further opportunities on upcoming high-voltage projects thereafter. The role is primarily site-based in Newark, with flexibility for 2 days working from home and occasional travel to Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage delivery of the 400kV BESS connection project, ensuring adherence to scope, programme, and budget.
  • Oversee all on-site activities, including the Hitachi subcontracted 400kV installation, ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
  • Lead coordination between design, procurement, commercial, and site teams.
  • Drive safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout project delivery.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks, and report on key project metrics to senior management and clients.
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful delivery and repeat business.

About You

  • Proven experience managing 132kV or higher voltage electrical infrastructure projects (substations, cabling, or grid connections).
  • Strong understanding of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) or large-scale renewable connections is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially aware with solid understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Comfortable working with tier-one subcontractors and ensuring delivery performance.
  • Flexible to work on-site in Newark with travel to head office as needed.
