We are looking for an experienced NGED Site Manager to oversee and deliver projects across the Midlands and Yorkshire regions. This is a key leadership role within our Power & Grid division, responsible for managing site operations on LV/HV distribution works in line with NGED standards.
You will play a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, while coordinating teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Managing day-to-day site operations on NGED projects (LV/HV works)
- Leading and supervising site teams, subcontractors, and operatives
- Ensuring full compliance with NGED Safety Rules, HSE regulations, and company procedures
- Planning and coordinating resources, materials, and programme delivery
- Producing and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
- Liaising with clients, engineers, DNO representatives, and project stakeholders
- Managing permits, outages, and switching schedules
- Monitoring progress, reporting on performance, and resolving site issues
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the utilities or power distribution sector
- Strong working knowledge of NGED standards and network operations
- Relevant NGED authorisations (e.g. Person / Competent Person / SAP preferred)
- Experience managing LV/HV distribution projects
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status or working towards
- Experience on multi-utility or ICP projects
- NRSWA certification (Supervisor level)
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience using project planning/reporting tools
