RG SETSQUARE is currently working with a social housing contractor seeking an experienced Multi Trade Operative.

Job title: Multi Trade Operative

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £36,000

Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm.

Benefits: Company van and fuel card provided; 23 days + Bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Void Works: Carry out works on void properties, ensuring they are brought back to a lettable standard efficiently.
• Multi-Trade Duties: Complete a range of tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general repairs.
• Property Refurbishments: Assist with refurbishment works across void properties, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Repairs & Maintenance: Undertake general repairs, maintenance, and minor upgrades as required.
• Quality of Work: Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with client expectations.
• Health & Safety: Follow all company health and safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
• Teamwork: Work alongside other trades and supervisors to complete jobs efficiently.
• Time Management: Ensure works are completed within agreed timeframes and schedules.

Key Requirements

• Proven Experience: Previous experience as a Multi Trade Operative or in a similar role within social housing or property maintenance is preferred.
• MUST have NVQ or C&G Qualifications within a trade.
• Multi-Skilled: Ability to carry out a range of basic trades including carpentry, plumbing, and decorating.
• Full UK Driving License: Must have a valid driving license.
• Practical Skills: Strong hands‑on ability with attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Self-Motivated: Able to work independently and complete tasks efficiently.
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
• Health & Safety Awareness: Good understanding of health and safety regulations.

As a Multi Trade Operative, you will play a key role in preparing properties for new tenants. The Multi Trade Operative will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks across multiple properties, ensuring high-quality results. This role requires a reliable and motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
