We're looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a professional Facilities Management team supporting a busy healthcare environment in York.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with strong mechanical and/or electrical skills to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and fault finding across a complex site.
Working within a healthcare environment, you'll play an important role in ensuring essential building services, equipment and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs across a range of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Completing detailed fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Completing PPM schedules in line with SFG20 and site requirements.
- Responding promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety procedures.
- Completing maintenance records and updating the CAFM system.
- Working closely with specialist contractors and other engineers.
- Supporting statutory, regulatory and compliance requirements.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills.
- Proven experience in PPM and reactive maintenance.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Healthcare or a similar environment.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within NHS, private healthcare or another high‑compliance environment.
- Experience across a broad range of mechanical, electrical and building services systems.
- Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance standards.
- Experience using CAFM systems.
