The predicted salary is between 24000 - 30000 £ per year.

We are looking for a Caretaker to assist with an assignment that will progress week by week initially for a maximum of 12 weeks. The work locations are stated above. This is a mobile working position and we will need the temp to have a full licence. We will provide the van for business use. They will report to the team leader; this position is a key role within our Estates and Open Spaces department.

Their impact in the role:

  • As a Caretaker, they will be involved in maintaining communal areas within our blocks and on our estates, carrying out communal cleaning and grounds maintenance work.
  • Ideally, they will be able to carry out small maintenance repairs as required.
  • They must be comfortable liaising directly with residents and contractors and answering queries.
  • They must have due regard to health & safety and security issues.

What they will bring:

  • Capable of carrying out a variety of small repair jobs and working effectively as part of a team and under their own initiative.
  • Trade skills, gardening or DIY experience would be an advantage together with a recognised City & Guilds or BICS qualification in cleaning, although not essential as training would be provided.
  • A good communicator and willing to learn new skills as the service adapts to the changing needs within the neighbourhood.
  • Able to work on their own initiative and be self-motivated to organise their own time effectively.
  • Proactive in daily activities and aware of safe working practices.
  • Of a good standard of literacy.
  • Have IT skills as they will be required to use a PC, undertaking online courses and assessments (this can be learned on the job during the probationary period).
