About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic and growing construction team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth financial and contractual management of a variety of projects across the North West. Working closely with project and site managers, you will oversee project finances, manage subcontractor relationships, and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout each project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Management
- Maximise project gross margins by obtaining best-value subcontract and supplier prices.
- Assess, monitor, and control project variations and costs.
- Prepare and agree variations, interim valuations, and final accounts with clients.
- Prepare subcontract valuations, issue notices, and manage payments.
- Produce cost valuation reports and cashflow forecasts.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify cost implications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the commercial department.
- Attend post-tender meetings and compile procurement schedules.
- Prepare and verify subcontract and supplier packages.
- Ensure compliance with all contract specifications.
- Hold pre-order meetings with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Visit sites regularly to ensure all financial aspects are recorded and monitored.
- Provide timely feedback to project and site teams regarding financial and subcontractor issues.
- Support the management of subcontractor performance and maintain strong working relationships.
- Review performance post-project and ensure accurate financial closeout.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Monitor site operations to ensure quality standards are achieved at minimal cost.
- Assist with snagging and defect resolution before retention release.
- Ensure health and safety compliance across all projects and investigate incidents as required.
- Plan and prioritise workload independently.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with company procedures.
About You
