We're looking for an experienced Mobile Electrical Testing Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management provider, supporting a portfolio of critical commercial and industrial sites across the Manchester area. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Test Engineer who enjoys a mobile role, carrying out inspection, testing, planned maintenance, and fault finding while ensuring electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out electrical inspection, testing, fault finding, and remedial works on LV distribution, final circuits, lighting, power, and HVAC systems
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20, BS7671, and industry best practices
- Responding to critical electrical faults and safety issues to minimise downtime
- Conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), inspections, and testing in accordance with current regulations
- Preparing site surveys, risk assessments, and method statements for planned works
- Maintaining accurate service reports, certification, and maintenance records
- Liaising with customers, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure excellent service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to improve system performance and maintenance processes
- Working safely while following all Health & Safety and electrical safety procedures
What we're looking for:
- City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing qualification
- Experience carrying out electrical testing, inspection, and fault finding within commercial, industrial, or critical environments
- Strong understanding of LV electrical distribution systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Experience working within Facilities Management or industrial environments
- Knowledge of power system coordination and industrial electrical infrastructure
- Experience preparing technical documentation including RAMS and work requests
