We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer to support an inspection-led housing maintenance service in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in property inspections, defect identification, and contractor coordination, who is confident working within occupied properties and ensuring works are completed to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out property and house inspections across housing stock
- Identifying defects and specifying required repair works
- Passing work instructions to contractors and monitoring progress
- Carrying out pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and completion
- Liaising with contractors, tenants, and internal teams
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with health & safety requirements
- Updating systems and maintaining accurate inspection and repair records
About You
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Officer, Property Inspector, Site Supervisor, or similar role
- Confident carrying out property inspections and assessing repairs
- Experience working with contractors and overseeing maintenance works
- Comfortable using IT systems for reporting and record-keeping
- Strong communication skills and a professional, tenant-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
