Mobile Mechanical Engineer Location: South London Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Contract: Full-time Working Pattern: Mobile, with on-call requirements We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management operation supporting a high-profile public-sector estate across South London. This is a hands-on mobile engineering role, responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across two closely located sites. You will be responsible for ensuring mechanical building services are maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing a professional service to the client. The Role - As a Mobile Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include: - Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. - Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across a range of mechanical building services. - Maintaining and repairing AHUs and ventilation systems, including intake and extract systems. - Maintenance of FCUs, heating and cooling systems. - Working on water systems and associated assets, including booster sets, chlorifiers and water heaters. - Responding to client queries and providing clear updates on works completed. - Completing service reports, inspection records and documentation accurately. - Identifying remedial works and ensuring issues are appropriately recorded and escalated. - Travelling between sites within the designated contract area. - Participating in an on-call rota as required. - Working independently while managing and prioritising your own workload. About You We are looking for an experienced mechanical building services engineer with a strong background in commercial maintenance or facilities management. You should have: - A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, Heating and Ventilation (City & Guilds or equivalent). - Proven experience within commercial mechanical maintenance or FM. - Experience working across multiple sites or in a mobile maintenance environment. - Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills. - Experience with HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and water systems. - Previous experience participating in an on-call rota. - Good communication and customer-service skills. - A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. - The ability to work independently and organise your workload effectively. Clearance Requirement Due to the nature of the contract, the successful candidate will be required to obtain CTC clearance. Please be aware that the clearance process can take approximately 7-10 months, so candidates must be willing and able to undergo the required security clearance process.
