Hi, We are looking for a Electrical Tester in London. Please find the below details of job - Job title - Electrical Tester Payrate - (Apply online only) Per day Start - ASAP Location - Central london EC1V Job title: Electrical Tester / Electrical Testing Role summary: To carry out electrical inspection, testing, fault diagnosis, and certification of electrical installations across domestic, commercial, or industrial environments. The role requires strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations and the ability to identify defects and recommend remedial work.
Key responsibilities
Carry out electrical inspection and testing of new and existing installations. Perform tests including continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance, RCD testing and prospective fault current. Complete EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) and electrical installation certificates. Identify electrical defects, faults, and potential safety hazards. Carry out fault-finding and diagnostic work. Ensure installations comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant UK legislation.
Complete test results, certificates, reports, and other documentation accurately. Use electrical testing equipment safely and correctly. Liaise with customers, site managers, contractors, and other trades. Recommend remedial works where defects or non-compliances are identified. Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain safe working practices.
Essential qualifications and experience Recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification. 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent inspection-and-testing qualification is commonly required. Practical experience in electrical installation and testing. Good understanding of UK electrical regulations and testing procedures. Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
Full UK driving licence may be required for mobile testing roles. Good communication and report-writing skills.
