We're currently recruiting for an M&E Shift Technician to join a critical data centre environment in London. This is a hands-on role responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure, ensuring systems remain safe, reliable and fully operational.
The Role
- Carrying out PPM, reactive and breakdown maintenance across critical M&E systems.
- Maintaining and fault-finding on UPS, generators, HV/LV electrical systems, PDU's, CRAC units, chillers, HVAC and BMS.
- Monitoring critical environmental conditions including temperature and humidity.
- Responding to plant faults and alarms and ensuring issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Maintaining accurate shift logs, site records and maintenance documentation.
- Supervising contractors and ensuring permits, RAMS and safe working practices are followed.
- Supporting the Shift Manager and providing cover when required.
- Working within a 24/7 critical environment and responding to operational requirements as part of a shift team.
About You
- Previous experience working within a critical environment, ideally a data centre.
- Strong M&E maintenance experience.
- Experience with UPS, generators, HV/LV systems, chillers, HVAC/CRAC and BMS.
- HV Authorised Person (AP) experience/qualification.
- 18th Edition BS7671.
- A City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration or Building Services.
- Good understanding of safe systems of work, RAMS and permit-to-work procedures.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a shift team.
