Health and Safety Compliance Officer - Waste Services with a Local Authority in Warwickshire required: Support the council in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality waste and recycling services. Ensure that all operations meet statutory health and safety requirements and council policies, while actively promoting a positive safety culture across frontline services. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc.
- Interpret legislation and translate into clear, practical procedures for frontline waste operations.
- Review and update council policies, procedures, and guidance in line with legislative and service changes.
- Support the council in meeting its corporate health and safety responsibilities.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in a health and safety role within a high-risk operational environment.
- Working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience of undertaking risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, particularly with frontline staff.
Desirable
- Experience within waste services or local government.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
