We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager to join a our client. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will support the site team across all technical plant and infrastructure requirements. You will coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and break/fix activities, working closely with the Data Centre Management and Facilities teams. The role involves the management of critical data centre operations, close engagement with new and existing customers, maintaining operational continuity and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery through specialist subcontractors. This is a key operational role within a business-critical environment, requiring someone who can remain calm under pressure, take ownership of issues and drive them through to successful resolution. Witness and oversee all critical works undertaken on site. Manage M&E activities to ensure service delivery consistently meets expectations. Support the Data Centre Manager with customer requirements, technical drawings, pricing and implementations. Assist with scenario testing and training for site teams. Proactively identify and drive opportunities to improve data centre infrastructure efficiency. Provide oversight of method statements, risk assessments and permit requirements. Site Availability & Service Continuity Maintain zero customer downtime and minimise the risk of breaches against contractual SLAs and KPIs. Work closely with the Service Management Centre on change control, ensuring customer communications and fault updates are accurately reported and managed. Lead and contribute to Post-Incident Reviews, developing a thorough understanding of incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Identify, manage and escalate any potential customer-impacting issues. Assist with the measurement and tracking of operational KPIs and maintain awareness of customer SLAs. Third-Party & Contractor Management Manage specialist contractors working across the data centre, ensuring contracted service levels are consistently delivered. Ensure reactive tasks are appropriately logged, monitored and completed. Oversee third-party maintenance contractors and suppliers, ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Ensure employees, customers and contractors comply with site policies, procedures and operational processes. Planned Preventative Maintenance Validate that all PPM activities are completed on time and to the required standard. Ensure reported faults and advisories are correctly logged, tracked and closed out. Assist with the creation and management of 30, 60 and 90-day forward maintenance planners. Reporting & Systems Support the effective use and management of the CAFM system, ensuring information is accurately recorded and maintained. Ensure accurate management information is captured, including labour utilisation. Work closely with the Technical and Operations teams to produce weekly and monthly site reports. Provide accurate and high-quality updates for daily operational calls. Attend weekly and monthly service review, maintenance and construction meetings.
