I'm currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a well-established Grounds Maintenance team covering the South West. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and wants to make a visible difference to local communities.

The Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for the cyclical upkeep of communal outdoor areas across a wide range of estates. These include market rent, shared ownership and independent living communities, sometimes covering full estates. In addition to planned maintenance, the team also provides a reactive service—responding to hazards such as fly-tipping and seasonal requirements, including snow clearance at independent living sites. Tree management is also a key part of the role, with a strong focus on retention and replanting to support wellbeing, biodiversity and carbon reduction.

In this role, you'll be working as part of a supportive team while having the flexibility to plan your own workload across a fortnightly round.

  • Maintaining external communal areas to a high standard
  • Grass cutting, hedge trimming and shrub maintenance
  • General grounds and estate maintenance
  • Soft landscaping and minor tree works (as required)
  • Responding to reactive and seasonal tasks when needed

What I'm Looking For:

  • Practical amenity horticultural knowledge and experience
  • PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (towing licence desirable)
  • A reliable, self-motivated and team-focused attitude

You'll be provided with everything you need to do the job safely and efficiently, including:

  • Company van with van vault, racking and inverter
  • Fuel card
  • Uniform, PPE, company tablet and mobile phone

From day one, you'll also receive:

  • 28 days' annual leave
  • Generous pension and life assurance schemes
  • Access to health and wellbeing support
  • Monthly team talks and regular business updates

Applications will be reviewed as they're received and interviews arranged on an ongoing basis. The advert may close early if sufficient applications are received, so I'd encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
