We are recruiting for a Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day facilities operation of a large industrial and office facility in Cumbernauld.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background who enjoys managing building operations, contractor performance, compliance, and maintenance activities while remaining close to the engineering function.
This role would particularly suit candidates from an Electrical, Building Services, Mechanical or HVAC background who are looking to take ownership of a prestigious site and lead facilities delivery within a manufacturing environment.
The Role
As Facilities Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the site.
Working closely with the on-site engineering team and specialist contractors, you will ensure all maintenance, compliance and facilities activities are delivered to the highest standard.
You will be the key point of contact for the client and will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment, managing contractors, overseeing projects and driving service excellence across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for facilities management across the site.
- Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and statutory requirements.
- Oversee contractor management and monitor service delivery performance.
- Manage site budgets and control expenditure.
- Maintain maintenance records, asset registers and compliance documentation.
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate emergency procedures, evacuations and site safety plans.
- Support and oversee site improvement and refurbishment projects.
- Liaise with procurement teams and external service providers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- A strong technical background in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or Building Services Engineering.
- Previous experience in a Facilities Manager, Technical Supervisor, Lead Engineer or similar role.
- Experience managing contractors and service providers.
- Good understanding of compliance and health & safety requirements.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of site operations.
Desirable Qualifications
- IOSH or NEBOSH
- IWFM/BIFM qualification
- Degree, apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering background
