This is a hands-on, project-focused role where you will be responsible for instructing, tracking, reviewing and closing fire remedial works, maintaining accurate compliance data, and ensuring clear, regular reporting. You will manage a 1 million budget to deliver these works, ensuring they are prioritised, actioned efficiently, and aligned with fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, prioritise and validate outstanding actions from Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
- Instruct and manage remedial works through internal teams and external contractors.
- Review and sign off completed works on-site or through contractor evidence to confirm compliance.
- Maintain and update asset compliance systems.
- Produce detailed reports on action status, progress, risks, and planned delivery.
- Support asset data reconciliation and ensure audit readiness.
- Liaise with Compliance, Housing, Property Services and Repairs teams to coordinate works.
- Ensure delivery of actions within scope, timelines and budget.
- Escalate high-risk or overdue items and propose remedial action plans.
- Report into relevant boards and cabinet meetings.
- Experience in building surveying or asset management with a focus on fire compliance.
- Strong knowledge of fire remedial actions (fire doors, compartmentation, etc.).
- Ability to manage budgets, workstreams and data across multiple properties.
- Proficient in asset and compliance systems MRI and Risk Ward.
- Excellent communication, reporting and coordination skills.
- Able to manage and review contractor performance effectively.
- Experience within a local authority or housing association setting.
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
