Engineering Supervisor - Epsom
- Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
- Salary up to £68k + 10% bonus

The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the M&E team and contractors within a critical environment. The role ensures facilities are operated safely, efficiently, and in line with service level agreements, operational procedures, and compliance requirements. Acting as the primary operational contact on site, the Supervisor oversees planned and reactive maintenance activities, incident response coordination, contractor management, and operational reporting through maintenance management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
- Lead operational response to critical infrastructure issues, coordinating internal engineering teams and external specialist contractors where required.
- Manage incident response processes and maintain accurate reporting through computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Operate in accordance with defined service delivery processes and site operating procedures.
- Perform duties associated with high-voltage authorised operations (HV AP), including isolations and permit issuing where applicable.
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across electrical, mechanical, and associated building infrastructure systems.
- Monitor service delivery performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs while supporting stakeholder communications.
- Supervise specialist service providers on site, including inductions, oversight of works, and approval of minor maintenance activities.
- Support wider site and operational management teams with technical guidance, operational coordination, and team coverage planning.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong experience within mission-critical engineering or critical facilities environments.
- Previous experience in data centres or similar high-availability operational environments.
- Good understanding of critical infrastructure systems including UPS systems, standby generators, cooling systems, and associated electrical/mechanical plant.
- Recognised technical or electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Experience operating and maintaining critical building infrastructure systems.
- Familiarity with IT service management platforms and/or CMMS tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to make sound operational decisions in high-pressure or risk-based situations.
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation and multitasking capabilities.
- Self-motivated with high personal standards and attention to detail.
- Adaptable and proactive mindset with the ability to respond effectively to changing operational requirements.
