RG Setsquare is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing electrical services contractor for a skilled Electrician to join their team across the West Midlands and surrounding areas. This is a field-based role covering a varied mix of retail installations, commercial fit-outs, planned and reactive maintenance, and inspection and testing work. You will be joining a professional, supportive team with a strong order book and genuine long-term stability.
The package is one of the strongest we are currently marketing in this space: a salary of up to £45,000, paid door-to-door travel, overtime at 1.5x, a company van, fuel card, and the chance to work with modern electrical infrastructure including EV charging systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out electrical installations across retail and commercial environments
- Deliver electrical work on commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep client sites fully operational
- Carry out inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems in line with current regulations
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently and accurately
- Install and maintain EV charging equipment where required
- Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and health & safety standards
- Complete job reports and certification accurately and on time
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and internal teams as required
What We're Looking For
Essential qualifications and experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing
- City & Guilds 2922-34 Level 3 Award
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong fault-finding ability and confidence working independently on commercial sites
- Previous experience in retail or commercial electrical work, fit-outs, or maintenance environments
Desirable (not essential):
- EV Charging qualification - City & Guilds 2921 (training may be available for the right candidate)
The Package
This role comes with one of the most competitive packages currently on offer for commercial electricians in the West Midlands: £40,000 - £45,000 base salary depending on experience. Paid door-to-door travel - your working day starts and ends at your front door. Overtime paid at 1.5x standard hourly rate. Company van and fuel card provided. Company Visa card for work-related expenses. Tools provided where required. Company pension scheme. 28 days holiday including bank holidays. On-call rota - approximately one week in every eight. Long-term, stable employment with a contractor that is actively growing its electrical division.
Working Hours
Standard working week of 38 hours, Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available on top. On-call duties rotate approximately once every eight weeks.
