A leading global facilities management provider is seeking an experienced Data Centre Shift Technician to join a high-performing critical environment team based at a live operational site in Northolt. This is a hands-on technical role within a Tier-standard data centre, responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and uninterrupted operation of all electrical and mechanical systems supporting business-critical infrastructure.
You will work as part of a shift engineering team delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive fault response, and compliance-led maintenance activities. The role will also involve supporting HV/LV operations (where authorised), UPS and generator systems, BMS monitoring, and environmental control systems. You will play a key part in maintaining uptime, responding to incidents, escalating technical issues appropriately, and ensuring all work is completed in line with strict SLA and health & safety standards.

- Salary: Up to £52,200
- Shift-based role (including nights, weekends & bank holidays)

- Strong technical development pathway within data centre operations
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across critical systems
- Support safe operation of UPS, generators, LV/HV systems and mechanical plant
- Carry out isolations, reinstatements and switching activities (where authorised)
- Operate permit-to-work systems and ensure full compliance with RAMS
- Monitor BMS and environmental systems, escalating issues where required
- Maintain accurate records using CMMS systems (SI-7 or equivalent)
- Respond to incidents and support fault diagnosis in a live environment
- Work closely with subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met
- Support continuous uptime of critical infrastructure across the site
- Participate in shift handovers and maintain clear technical communication
- Electrical qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience within a critical environment (data centre, hospital, banking, FM, etc.)
- Strong understanding of UPS, generators, and electrical distribution systems
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
- Good understanding of permit-to-work systems and H&S compliance
- Ability to work effectively on shift within a 24/7 operational environment
- Strong communication, fault-finding and problem-solving skills
