Electrical Engineer - Hospital Maintenance Coventry Full-time 40 hours per week The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the facilities management team at a hospital in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Electrical Engineer to work within a busy healthcare environment, helping to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the hospital's electrical systems and infrastructure. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, electrical testing and fault finding across the site. Working alongside fellow engineers, contractors and hospital staff, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical maintenance across the hospital. Undertake electrical testing, inspections, fault finding and remedial works. Complete electrical safety checks and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise disruption to hospital operations. Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, health and safety legislation and site procedures. Maintain accurate maintenance records, certificates and job reports using computerised maintenance management systems. Identify potential issues through proactive inspections and recommend appropriate remedial actions. Work collaboratively with other engineers, subcontractors and hospital stakeholders to ensure maintenance requirements are met. Follow safe systems of work and ensure all tasks are completed to the required standards. Essential Requirements City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent electrical qualification. AM2 certification. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Proven experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs. Good understanding of electrical safety, statutory compliance and safe working practices. Basic IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records using maintenance systems. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Desirable Experience Previous experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment. Experience in commercial building services or facilities management. City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing, or an equivalent qualification. Experience maintaining electrical systems within a critical environment. What's on Offer?
