Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Wiltshire | £Competitive | Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a projects and facilities management team supporting a major secure estate in Corsham, Wiltshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and detail-focused individual looking to develop their career within Quantity Surveying and commercial management. You will work alongside experienced commercial professionals and gain hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, including tendering, procurement, subcontract management, cost reporting and forecasting.
The Role
- Assess tender returns for accuracy, compliance and value for money.
- Prepare and issue tender enquiries to contractors and suppliers.
- Assist with the preparation and placement of subcontract orders, ensuring clear scopes and commercial terms.
- Support the development of scopes of work, activity schedules and pricing templates.
- Assist with monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
- Support the wider commercial team with procurement and project cost management.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, project teams and other stakeholders.
- Help ensure commercial processes are followed and documentation is maintained accurately.
About You
- Previous experience in a QS, commercial, procurement or project support position.
- Experience within construction, facilities management or the MoD/secure estate environment would be advantageous.
- An understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts would be beneficial.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
- Good attention to detail and a commercial mindset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within Quantity Surveying/commercial management.
