Multi-Skilled Maintenance | Building Services | Engineering Maintenance We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias to join a professional engineering team supporting a range of technically complex sites across London. ⚡ This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical background who is looking to develop their career within a varied and technically demanding Facilities Management environment. 🔧 The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems, ensuring plant, equipment and building services remain safe, compliant, reliable and fully operational. 🏢 The role will involve working across a variety of environments, equipment types and maintenance requirements, with opportunities to undertake modifications, installations, repairs, calibration and reliability-focused engineering activities. 🔧 Responsibilities & Duties • ⚡ Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems. • 🚨 Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, breakdowns, faults and equipment failures. • 🔍 Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics and effective repairs. • ⚙️ Undertake multi-skilled maintenance activities across electrical and mechanical plant and equipment. • 🔌 Maintain, inspect, test and repair electrical systems and associated equipment within areas of competence. • 🛠️ Carry out mechanical maintenance and repairs where appropriately trained and competent. • 📏 Maintain, repair and calibrate plant, equipment and instrumentation to the required standard. • 📋 Complete planned maintenance activities in accordance with agreed schedules and maintenance requirements. • 🔧 Undertake modifications, alterations and installation works where required. • 🏗️ Support engineering projects and equipment modifications designed to improve reliability and maintainability. • ⚡ Identify faults, defects and potential equipment failures and take appropriate corrective action. • 🧠 Use technical knowledge and initiative when diagnosing engineering problems and identifying practical solutions. • 📐 Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and engineering technical drawings and documentation. • 📑 Follow relevant maintenance procedures, technical instructions and safe systems of work. • 🛡️ Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and statutory obligations. • 📋 Complete risk assessments, RAMS, permits and other relevant safe working documentation where required. • 🦺 Correctly use PPE, tools, test equipment and access equipment in accordance with safety requirements. • 📊 Maintain high standards of statutory and regulatory compliance across engineering activities. • 📝 Complete accurate maintenance records, job reports and technical documentation. • 💻 Update CAFM and other computerised maintenance systems with accurate job information and completion details where required. • ⏱️ Complete allocated maintenance activities within agreed timescales and to the required standard. • 🤝 Liaise professionally with colleagues, site teams, contractors and other relevant stakeholders. • 🏢 Work across a variety of sites and equipment types while maintaining consistent engineering standards. • 🔍 Identify recurring faults and opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability. • 📈 Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving maintainability, reliability and service delivery. • 🎓 Undertake additional training and development to maintain and broaden technical competence. • 🛠️ Undertake other reasonable engineering and maintenance duties relevant to the role and level of responsibility. 👨‍🔧 Requirements • ⚡ Proven experience working as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, M&E Engineer, Engineering Technician or similar. • 🎓 NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (Multi-Discipline) or equivalent qualification. • ⚡ Strong electrical engineering and maintenance background. • ⚙️ Good practical knowledge of mechanical engineering and maintenance. • 📐 Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings. • 🔧 Proven experience carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance. • 🔍 Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. • 🛠️ Practical experience maintaining, repairing and servicing plant and equipment. • 📏 Experience with instrumentation, calibration or associated equipment would be advantageous. • 🏢 Good understanding of building services and engineering maintenance environments. • 📋 Strong knowledge and understanding of building statutory compliance. • 🛡️ Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements within an engineering and maintenance environment. • 📑 Understanding of RAMS, risk assessments, permits and safe systems of work. • 💻 Ability to accurately complete electronic maintenance records and engineering documentation. • 🗣️ Good verbal and written communication skills. • 🤝 Strong interpersonal and team-working skills. • 🧠 Proactive approach to fault finding and engineering problem solving. • 👤 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • 🔄 Flexible approach to working across checks – mandatory. ⭐ Desirable Experience • ⚡ Strong electrical maintenance experience within a Facilities Management or Building Services environment. • ⚙️ Multi-skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance experience. • 📐 Experience reading electrical, mechanical and instrumentation drawings. • 🔌 Experience working with LV electrical systems. • 📏 Experience with instrumentation, testing and calibration. • 🏗️ Experience undertaking equipment modifications and installations. • 🔧 Experience working on plant and equipment within complex engineering environments. • 🏢 Previous Facilities Management or commercial building services experience. • 📊 Experience working within environments with stringent statutory and compliance requirements. • 💻 Experience using CAFM or computerised maintenance management systems. • 🛡️ Previous experience working within secure or high-security environments. • 🎓 Additional electrical, mechanical, instrumentation or building services
