Technical Services Manager Location: CarlisleCarlisle Salary: £56,000 per annumannum Hours: Full-time, Monday-FridayMonday-Friday Environment: Healthcare The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of Hard FM and Estates services within a healthcare environment in CarlisleCarlisle. This is a senior operational position with responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant and effective management of critical building services and maintenance across the site. You will lead the Estates and Hard FM function, providing strong leadership to operational teams while ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to a high standard. The role will suit an experienced Technical Services Manager, Estates Manager, Hard FM Manager or Senior Engineering Manager with a strong background in complex environments. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the Estates and Hard FM function, providing direction, support and leadership to Supervisors and Managers. - Oversee the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities. - Develop and implement a proactive maintenance strategy to maximise asset performance, reliability and compliance. - Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, on time and in line with required standards. - Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. - Ensure statutory, regulatory, health and safety and compliance requirements are consistently maintained. - Manage operational resources, budgets and service delivery performance. - Build effective working relationships with clients, healthcare stakeholders, contractors and internal teams. - Provide strong leadership and support to engineering and estates personnel, encouraging high standards of performance and professional development. - Respond effectively to operational issues and ensure appropriate actions are taken to maintain service continuity. - Contribute to the ongoing improvement of maintenance processes, systems and overall service delivery. About You We are looking for an experienced Estates, Technical Services or Hard FM professional who has operated at management level within a complex environment. You will ideally have: - Proven experience in a senior Estates, Technical Services, Engineering or Hard FM management role. - Strong knowledge of building services, estates maintenance and Hard FM operations. - Experience managing engineering or estates teams and overseeing service delivery. - Experience managing budgets, contractors and operational performance. - A strong understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance and asset management. - Good knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety and relevant estates requirements. - Excellent leadership and people-management skills. - Strong organisational and planning abilities. - The ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding operational environment. - A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Previous experience within a healthcare, hospital or similarly complex environment would be highly advantageous.
