Authorised Person (Water)
Salary: Circa £45,000 + benefits
We are recruiting for an experienced Authorised Person (Water) to join a large, complex healthcare environment. This is a key compliance role responsible for ensuring water systems are operated and maintained in line with HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Authorised Person (Water) and provide technical assurance across water systems.
- Ensure compliance with Water Safety Plans and statutory maintenance requirements.
- Monitor inspections, sampling, flushing, cleaning and disinfection activities.
- Supervise contractors and Competent Persons carrying out water hygiene works.
- Investigate incidents, non-conformances and Legionella-related risks.
- Support audits, inspections and Authorising Engineer reviews.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and drive corrective actions where required.
Requirements
- Recognised Authorised Person (Water) qualification/training.
- Strong water hygiene, water treatment or water safety management experience.
- Detailed knowledge of HTM 04-01, ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Supervisory experience managing teams, contractors or specialist service providers.
- Experience investigating compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent technical qualification desirable.
