Step into the go-to Private Client role locally, with real autonomy, not just a title. Lead and shape a junior-heavy team with plenty of work already in place. This role exists because the team has grown quickly. There’s a strong pipeline of private client work across multiple London offices, but locally the teams are junior-heavy and need someone experienced to steady things and lead from the front.
You’ll walk into an established caseload spanning wills, probate, LPAs, trusts and more complex estates. In the first few months, the focus is simple: take ownership, get to know the clients, and become the person others turn to for guidance. Over the first year, your role naturally broadens. You’ll support and mentor junior lawyers, help improve consistency across the team, and build stronger relationships with clients and referrers. There’s no expectation to overhaul everything, but your input will genuinely shape how the team develops. Longer term, this becomes a leadership position in all but name. You’ll be the senior presence locally, helping grow the offering and influencing the direction of the department, while still being supported by a wider, well-established team.
Who we’re looking for:
- Qualified Solicitor with strong Private Client experience
- Experience handling complex estates and trust work
- Proven ability to manage a full caseload independently
- Strong client relationship and communication skills
- Collaborative and supportive approach to team development
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a broad private client caseload from start to finish
- Advising on complex and high-value estates, including tax planning and trusts
- Drafting wills, LPAs and administering estates
- Acting as a senior presence locally, supporting junior lawyers and trainees
- Building and maintaining strong client and referrer relationships
- Working collaboratively across multiple offices within the wider team
- Supporting the growth and development of the private client offering
Salary & Benefits:
- Hybrid working, typically 2–3 days from home
- 5 weeks’ holiday + bank holidays + additional company days
- Bupa membership (including cover for children)
- Life assurance, income protection & critical illness cover
- Pension scheme
- Perks and retail discounts platform
- Strong focus on wellbeing, flexibility and long-term career development
- Clear opportunity to grow into a leadership role locally
Ideally you will be working at Partner level in Private client, based in South London office, and required to go into Central London once a week. This client also offers excellent hybrid working 2 or 3 days working from home.
