We are looking to recruit a senior family lawyer at partner/equity level, with a strong reputation, significant experience and a passion for all aspects of Family Law, to lead the department in the next stage of its journey. This is a key appointment for the firm, and the ideal candidate will likely demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 10 years post qualification experience.
- Solid experience in mixed private family practice, including private children proceedings, divorce and financial remedy work, with exposure to international matters, adoption and abduction cases.
- While legal aid experience is not essential, an understanding is highly desirable, as this is a mixed-practice family team.
- Strong technical ability, commercially aware and a driven individual looking to make a difference.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team with strong management skills and a collaborative and inclusive approach.
- Comfortable undertaking work to widen the department's referral network and raising its profile further, developing a broader growth strategy for the Department focused on a balance of children and financial matters.
- Proven track record of effective billing and collection procedures.
Skills / Knowledge Requirements
- A thorough understanding of the law and practice relating to all areas of Family law; 10 Yrs PQE+ with good experience working as a Family Partner or head of department.
- Ideally a member of relevant organisations within area of law, to conduct litigation in accordance with their code of practice.
- Excellent negotiating experience and skills; Have a proven track record of practice development.
