About IHP
Established for over 60 years, IHP is one of the UK’s leading specialists in the manufacture of hose fittings and precision turned parts for industrial, horticultural, agricultural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam applications. We are now looking for a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join our growing team in Birmingham.
The Role
As an Internal Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and supporting clients across the industrial fluid power sector. You’ll work closely with sales, purchasing, engineering, production, and marketing teams to identify opportunities, support customers, and help grow the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sales experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced technical environment. Experience within fluid power or industrial products is beneficial but not essential — full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer enquiries, quotations, and sales orders via phone and email
- Follow up quotations and convert opportunities into orders
- Provide product advice and technical support to customers and prospects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key decision-makers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Work collaboratively with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Sales teams
- Maintain accurate customer records using CRM systems
- Produce sales reports, forecasts, and KPI updates
- Research market trends and competitor activity
- Support marketing initiatives, trade shows, and industry events
- Ensure compliance with company health & safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous sales experience (industrial or technical sales desirable)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Professional and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop within a technical industry
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally
