RG Consultancy is working with a well-established and growing business looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their friendly finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchase ledger professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records and building strong supplier relationships.
The Role
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the finance function.
You will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, reconciling accounts, managing payment runs, and supporting month-end activities while providing excellent service to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate supplier account records and ensure all information is up to date.
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely posting to the finance system.
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies, resolving queries efficiently.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs in accordance with agreed payment terms.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment queries.
- Support month-end procedures, including accounts payable reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with maintaining financial controls and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Provide general administrative and finance support to the wider finance team as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or similar finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to build positive supplier relationships.
- A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider finance team.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
