Financial Controller in Liverpool

RG Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a successful company based in Liverpool to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Finance Professional to grow their career within a successful and well-established SME business.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Take overall responsibility for the firm's financial control function.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Lead the month-end and year-end processes.
• Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and support the annual audit process.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow forecasting.
• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis to Partners and directors.
• Ensure compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules, HMRC requirements and relevant regulations.
• Oversee VAT returns and other tax-related reporting.
• Manage and review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and general ledger activity.
• Provide financial information and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.
• Lead and develop a growing finance team of 4.
• Work closely with Partners, fee earners and senior stakeholders across the business.
• Drive improvements in finance systems and reporting processes.
• Assist with financial projects and other ad hoc commercial analysis as required.

The ideal candidate:

• At least 2 years' experience within a senior finance position
• ACCA/ CIMA part/ Qualified is preferred but not a necessity
• 2 years' experience within legal or professional services environment
