We are working with an excellent distribution company, based in Leigh, who are looking for a credit controller to join the finance team on a full‑time, permanent basis. This role suits someone with a strong customer service, collections or debt background and who wants to work within an accounts department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking responsibility as part of the Credit Control function
  • Chasing up outstanding payments
  • Liaising and building relationships with a variety of customers
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Cash allocation
  • Liaising with our Credit insurers to obtain credit scoring for our customer base
  • Sorting payments and posting to ledgers
  • Taking card payments online for pro‑forma and existing accounts and allocating
  • Raising manual invoices when required
  • Opening new accounts via the trade portal
  • Running Experian Reports and First Source reports
  • Updating contact log with up‑to‑date reports and information
  • Running aged debt reports
  • Raising credit notes for damaged goods, no returns discounts and settlement discounts

Requirements & Benefits
