RG Consultancy are working with an excellent large turnover business located near Halifax who are looking for an experienced management accountant to join the company on a full time, permanent basis.

We are looking for a highly capable, numbers-driven Management Accountant who can take ownership of the full accounting cycle from start to finish.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing deadlines and producing accurate, meaningful financial information for the business.

This would suit someone qualified or qualified by experience with 5-8 years + within finance.

Duties include

  • Own the month-end process from start to finish, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
  • Manage the preparation of year-end and statutory financial accounts.
  • Produce detailed project and job-level financial reporting , monitoring actual costs against budgets and forecasts.
  • Review project profitability, margins, revenue and costs, highlighting potential issues and variances.
  • Work closely with project and commercial teams to ensure costs and revenues are accurately captured in the correct period.
  • Review supplier invoices, subcontractor costs and purchase ledger information to ensure accurate accounting and appropriate cost allocation.
  • Support cash-flow forecasting , including expected customer receipts and supplier payments.
  • Monitor aged debtors and assist with credit control and cash collection.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across projects and the wider business.
  • Provide management with clear analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisers and other external stakeholders as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes and the accuracy of financial information.
