RG Consultancy are delighted to be working with an excellent, well-established large company based in Burnley who are looking for an experienced accountant to join them as Head of Accounting. Reporting to, and working alongside the CFO, this Head of Accounting role would be responsible for ensuring the financial accounting department runs smoothly across general ledger, compliance and group reporting activities.
Key duties include:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee all accounting operations and processes, strengthen financial systems and controls
- Be the primary point of contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders
- Ensure accounting accuracy and compliance with all tax regulations
- Ensure group reporting requirements are being met, including completion of consolidated reporting packs
- Strategic leadership for the various teams across accounting, tax and internal controls
- Continual review of accounting process and controls to support business growth
- Focus on development of the team, ensuring continuous improvements and increased technical knowledge
- Play a key role in system implementations and improvements
This role requires someone with a strong technical knowledge who is confident in presenting monthly financial information. Previous experience in a senior leadership/head of accounting role would be advantageous but likewise someone who is ready to make the step up into this role would be considered.
