Position: Part time Finance Manager
Reports to: Group Finance Director
Hours: Flexible hours/days across 2 or 3 days
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays (pro rata)

Purpose of the Role
You will support the Finance Director across all financial activities within the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the transactional elements of the finance function, while working closely with the Finance Director on month-end processes and the preparation of management accounts. This position also plays an important mentoring role, providing day-to-day support to junior members of the finance team. The role is well suited to someone with 10+ years of experience in accounting, who can confidently guide and develop the team while supporting the Finance Director with variance analysis, financial reporting, and wider financial operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and financial forecasts.
- Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Consolidate and present complex financial information to non-financial colleagues to support strategic choices.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Support with costings and margins reporting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Support the Finance Director in managing insurance, legal, and regulatory matters.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to help improve operational efficiency and cost control.
- Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of financial processes.
- Support the Finance Director in evaluating existing systems and implementing improved processes.
