RG Consultancy are working with a company based in Bolton who are looking to add a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who's ready to take ownership of key accounting duties and support the wider finance function in a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- VAT returns and compliance support
- Support year-end processes and liaise with auditors
- Provide insight and reporting to help with financial decision-making
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Proactive attitude and a team player
