Job Title: HGV Tyre Fitter
Location: Hamilton, Scotland
Working Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 06:00 – 18:00
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We’re currently recruiting an experienced HGV Tyre Fitter to join a busy and well-established transport operation based in Hamilton. Working Tuesday to Saturday, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing commercial vehicle tyres across a fleet of HGVs to ensure maximum safety and roadworthiness.
This is a full-time permanent position, offering stable hours and a strong team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and assess the condition of HGV and commercial vehicle tyres
Remove, repair, and fit tyres in accordance with industry standards
Ensure tyres are correctly balanced and aligned
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and tyres used
Respond to tyre-related issues both in the workshop and (on occasion) roadside call-outs
Carry out pressure checks and rotate tyres as needed
Communicate effectively with workshop colleagues and fleet managers regarding vehicle condition and required work
Requirements:
Previous experience in fitting and maintaining commercial vehicle tyres (HGV, truck, or bus tyres)
Strong understanding of tyre safety standards and procedures
Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Physical fitness and ability to safely handle heavy tools and tyres
