What you’ll do
- Review invitation to tender (ITT) documents and specifications to understand client requirements.
- Assess the scope for hard services (e.g. M&E, fabric maintenance), soft services (e.g. cleaning, security, catering), or total FM (integrated).
- Collaborate with bid teams and senior management to develop a winning strategy and approach.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, based on subcontractor quotes, and self‑delivery rates.
- Factor in lifecycle costing, possible year‑on‑year savings, staffing models, and risk contingencies.
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes for specialist services.
- Ensure quotes are aligned with the tender requirements and value for money.
- Define and cost labour requirements, shift patterns, and productivity rates for service delivery.
- Work with operational teams to validate assumptions and delivery models.
- Ensure tenders comply with legal, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identify and quantify risks (e.g., inflation, TUPE, paymech).
- Work closely with bid managers, business development, and technical experts to align pricing with the written submission.
- Participate in bid reviews, pricing validations, and governance processes.
- Use data and insights from previous bids, industry benchmarks, and FM market trends to inform pricing strategy.
- Support bid presentations, attend client meetings, and respond to clarification questions post‑submission.
What you’ll need
- Degree level in a relevant Facilities Management discipline preferred or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in the Facilities Management sector.
- Highly customer‑focused, both internal and external.
- Excellent communication skills with the skill and ability to present to the board of directors.
- Must have an exceptional understanding of SFG20.
