Formed in 2018, RFL Property Services is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group and has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS. The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, our parent Trust, is one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care through our four main hospital sites: North Middlesex, Barnet, Chase Farm, and Royal Free.
The Opportunity: We are looking for two highly experienced Senior Contracts Managers to provide leadership for the Contracts and Performance department in managing Estates & Facilities contracts and a newly developing business in clinical consumables management. Working across Group services on behalf of RFLPS, RFL, and their partner NHS organisations, you will take ownership of managing complex NHS contracts, Estate, and Supplier agreements across RFLPS' services. You will act as a key interface between RFLPS and our clients and contract partners, working closely with internal stakeholders including clinical and non-clinical staff, procurement, and finance.
Your leadership and contractual insight will help ensure that RFLPS continues to meet and exceed its obligations, innovate within its services, and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with Internal Departments, Commissioners, NHS, and non-NHS providers.
Key Responsibilities:- Management of the day-to-day contracts management service across RFLPS and its client sites and services.
- Developing the contract management work programme including the procurement pipeline, formulating plans and priorities, ensuring they reflect the requirements of relevant services.
- Leading the end-to-end management of NHS Standard and non-NHS Contracts, ensuring full compliance with national and local requirements.
- Acting as the key point of contact for all contract-related queries and issues.
- Supporting internal teams by interpreting and advising on contract terms, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Monitoring service delivery and performance against contractual requirements, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Providing expert input into service delivery, bids, tenders, and mobilisation of new services in line with RFLPS' strategic goals.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure contract deliverables are met across all services, including Estates, Facilities, Consumables Supply, Electrical and Biomedical Engineering (EBME), Insurance, and Property Management.
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to clients and internal departments, supporting the quality and performance agenda.
- Providing knowledge and experience to continuously improve and evolve the contracting function across the organisation.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications: Educated to degree level with a supporting qualification in procurement and/or project management.
- Experience: Senior management experience and large-scale contract management delivery experience within an acute hospital environment or a similarly complex organisation.
- Leadership: A proven leader with multi-disciplinary Hard and Soft Facilities Management/Estates Strategy and operational experience.
- Project Expertise: Proven experience of strategic and operational stages of major contract development and management.
- Procurement & Contract Management: Comprehensive knowledge of procurement options, contract management, partnering, and joint ventures including JCT & NEC 3 / 4 contracts.
- Salary: £65,760 - £71,079 per annum, depending on experience with opportunities for growth and development.
