The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Graduate Studies Assistant to support the Professional Masters Programme within the Department of Computer Science. This is a part-time role (0.6 FTE) offered on a fixed-term contract for two years, based at the Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford.

The postholder will work closely with the Graduate Studies Officer and the wider Professional Masters Programme team to support the administration and delivery of postgraduate teaching programmes. The Professional Masters Programme delivers part-time postgraduate education to working professionals and currently includes MSc programmes in Software Engineering, Software and Systems Security, and Artificial Intelligence for Business. The programme supports approximately 380 students, many of whom are in full-time employment, and manages all aspects of student administration, including admissions, course attendance, assessment, and alumni engagement.

The Graduate Studies Assistant will contribute to the smooth running of the programme by supporting student progression, coordinating teaching activities, assisting with course logistics, maintaining accurate records, and liaising with academic staff, students, and external stakeholders. The role requires a high level of organisation and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should be educated to A-level standard or equivalent, with relevant administrative experience, preferably within a higher education or academic setting. Experience in student administration or programme coordination is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team and manage responsibilities independently.
