Responsibilities:

  • Defining RF and digital system architecture for new products.
  • Designing PCB schematics implementing RF and FPGA systems.
  • Diagnosing and fixing issues in prototypes.
  • Defining calibration processes.
  • Able to contribute to the development of RFcreations' DSP IP, firmware or software.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers.

Experience:

  • Good degree in Electronic Engineering, Physics or similar.
  • 5+ years working with RF electronics.
  • Specifying RF systems, understanding novel application specific requirements.
  • Designing RF circuits at GHz frequencies (selecting appropriate COTS components, cascade analysis etc).
  • Using standard test equipment (Spectrum analyser, VNA, signal generator, oscilloscope).
  • Debugging issues on high frequency PCBs.
  • Measuring RF performance metrics against the specification (NF, IP3, SFDR etc).
  • Confident in both technical leadership of RF systems projects, and in hands on development work.

In addition, we would anticipate the candidate to have experience in some of the following:

  • PCB Layout.
  • Writing test scripts in Python.
  • Bluetooth systems.
  • High speed digital, e.g. USB3, PCIe.
  • FPGA, particularly Xilinx and (System)Verilog.
  • C++.
