This is an opportunity to take full ownership of DSP and FPGA architecture within a company operating at the forefront of Bluetooth and wireless analysis technology. You’ll be joining a small, specialist team building highly sophisticated software-defined radio platforms, used by some of the most advanced engineering teams in the world to develop and debug next-generation wireless devices. This role sits right at the centre of it all – shaping how signals are processed, how systems are architected, and how hardware and software come together. As the technical authority for DSP and FPGA, you will have responsibility for both hands‑on design and architectural direction.
Responsibilities
- Own DSP implementations across SDR platforms
- Design and optimise modems, filter structures, FFT pipelines, error correction and modulation schemes
- Define the hardware‑versus‑software boundary, working closely with protocol and embedded teams
- Collaborate with RF and analogue engineers on low‑power, high‑performance system design
- Drive new features and product innovation that directly impact end users
- Act as a senior technical voice, including customer interaction, demos, and industry events
Experience
- Deep expertise in DSP and communication systems
- Strong experience with software‑defined radios (SDR)
- Advanced FPGA development experience (Verilog and/or VHDL)
- Strong understanding of modem design (tracking loops, equalisers, etc.)
- Experience with error correction and modulation schemes
- Comfortable with ownership, ambiguity, and autonomy
Additional Experience
- Exposure to analogue/RF circuitry
- C++, Python or MATLAB
- Bluetooth or wireless protocol knowledge
- Experience making architectural decisions

The role is full‑time and will be based at our office in St. John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge. Hours can be at the successful candidate’s preference and flexible working is available, but presence in the office is required three days per week.
