Are you a qualified maintenance electrician with experience of BMS controls and a passion to learn more about BMS controls? We have a new role for a qualified maintenance electrician to join a leading University in central London on an ongoing interim basis. You will be working 35 hours per week (8-4) and be paid weekly for this role at a PAYE rate of £23.68 per hour (28.07 Umbrella rate).

This is an opportunity to not only deliver electrical maintenance but also to train as a BMS controls engineer and gain valuable experience in this area. Within this maintenance electrician's role, you will be responsible for an interesting mix of:

  • BMS controls
  • BMS fault finding
  • Working closely with the BMS controls engineers
  • Testing on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and lift alarms
  • Replacement of ballasts and lighting
  • PAT testing
  • Lamp changes
  • Safety checks on DB boards
  • Installations of light fittings, DB boards
  • Testing of electrical systems
  • General building services maintenance as required
  • PPMs and reactive minor repairs

For this electrical maintenance role in London, we are looking for:

  • Level 3 city and guilds/ NVQ and 18th edition (this is essential)
  • BMS experience of Tridium
  • Some working knowledge of BMS systems and a desire to learn more in this area
  • Building services maintenance experience within a similar role
  • Experience of delivering both PPMs and reactive maintenance in a commercial multi-building setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Able to start immediately with good references
