The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer with extensive mobile experience to shape the design, progression, and long-term engagement of our gaming products. This hands‑on role requires a deep understanding of player retention. You will collaborate with the Game Director and cross‑functional teams to design engaging, scalable, and commercially viable systems. The role focuses on mobile gaming, including progression, onboarding, rewards, retention, live tuning, and player behaviour. You will translate creative ideas into clear, testable, and scalable features, always prioritising the player experience.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design of core gameplay systems, progression, rewards, economy, and player experience.
  • Design engaging gameplay loops that improve retention, engagement, and long‑term player value.
  • Create, document, and iterate on features such as onboarding, progression, challenges, rewards, events, and live content systems.
  • Leverage player behaviour, analytics, feedback, and testing to guide design decisions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to transform ideas into practical, scalable experiences.
  • Produce clear design documentation, flows, and specifications to communicate intent across teams.
  • Support live products through balancing, tuning, feature iteration, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning by identifying opportunities for growth, experimentation, and enhanced player experience.
  • Advocate for player‑first thinking while balancing commercial, product, and business objectives.
  • Help elevate the quality, consistency, and maturity of game design practices across the team.
  • Work with the Game Director to ensure features align with the creative vision and product strategy.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience in game design, with significant experience working on shipped mobile titles.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile game design, progression systems, retention mechanics, and player engagement.
  • Proven experience designing features or systems that enhance player behaviour, retention, or long‑term engagement.
  • Solid understanding of free‑to‑play mechanics, live operations, and modern mobile gameplay loops.
  • Practical understanding of game economies, reward systems, monetisation and balancing.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using player data and product insights to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and align design, product, engineering, and creative teams.
  • Comfortable working across concept development, detailed documentation, implementation support, and iteration.
  • Able to take ownership of features and work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A portfolio or shipped titles demonstrating strong creative thinking, design execution, and measurable player impact.

Nice to have

  • Experience with sports, simulation, fitness, performance, or real‑world data‑driven products.
  • Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, and product analytics platforms.
  • Interest in real‑time data and data‑informed gameplay design.
  • Experience with licensed sports IP or recognised brands.
  • Familiarity with XR or VR experiences is a plus, but not required.
