Location: Barking Salary: £30,000 per annum Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 8:30am – 17:00m (Monday-Friday) Please be advised we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role. About the Role The role will involve ensuring that all products manufactured on site are safe, meet customer requirements and comply with food safety standards & current legislation. This will include conducting effective departmental audits to help drive continuous improvements. You will be working alongside the Technical Manager, supporting the development of Solstice. Key Responsibilities Monitoring ongoing compliance with food safety, legislation, quality & customer requirements, and industry regulatory requirements. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures. Monitor and promote GMP, Hygiene, Quality Standards, and adherence to all Quality Management & Food Safety related procedures. Managing Microbiology testing schedule, including product samples and environmental swabs collections Conducting and document internal audits (GMP, Hygiene, Glass & Plastic). Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective & preventative actions. Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances issued. Conduct verification checks on site’s Critical Control Points and help in day-to-day maintenance of HACCP. Provide technical support and advice to production team. Routine QA/Technical tasks. the completion and reviewing of products specifications. Managing the supplier approval matrix and monitoring suppliers’ performances Supporting the Technical manager in preparations for BRCGS audit What We’re Looking For Degree or equivalent in Food science, Foods Technology, or a related field Food Safety Level 2 HACCP Level 2 2 years’ experience within the food industry, preferably manufacturing. Proficiency in using Microsoft office applications including Excel and Microsoft word. Experience with food manufacturing software and quality control tools. Knowledge of quality control procedures and functions. Good communicator across all levels, formal and informal. Understanding of Health & Safety procedures on site.
