An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Facilities Engineer to join our National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross. The role of the Senior Facilities Engineer is to ensure negligible downtime occurs on all equipment within the Warehouse Conveyor/Pick-Line operation and to lead and deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on a range of mechanical and electrical installations, at the Waltham Cross NDC and from time to time at other company facilities around the M25.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and provide a Planned Preventative Maintenance system for all M&E equipment (Box Erector, Print & Apply Labeller and associated Conveyor, Cardboard Baler, and Accumulation Conveyor).
  • Attend and rectify all breakdowns that may occur to any of the above equipment.
  • Provide user training and simple fault-finding solutions to equipment users on the Conveyor/Pick-Line.
  • Work closely with the relevant equipment providers to further develop the equipment.
  • Maintain a working stock of key components and consumables required for repairs.
  • Provide breakdown support to the warehouse team on other plant and equipment e.g., High Speed Doors, Dock Levellers etc.
  • From time to time, liaise with specialist contractors as required for out of hours breakdowns including Refrigeration and Electrical services.
  • Work within all H&S and environmental standards and regulations.
  • From time to time provide specialist support to other group companies in the Greater London area.

To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • A recognised Mechanical and Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Full clean driving licence and car owner.
  • Proven experience of mechanical maintenance of Hydraulic/Pneumatic equipment, belts and conveyors.
  • Experience of electrical fault finding on Computer Controlled equipment and machinery.
  • Accurate attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills.
  • Friendly, helpful & polite with a can do attitude.
  • Previous experience of working within the food industry/chilled warehouse environment would be advantageous.
