About the Role

This is a hands-on training role at the heart of our warehouse operation. You’ll work closely with our teams across regional depots and subsidiary sites, delivering engaging, practical training that keeps our people safe, skilled, and confident. • Delivering Impactful Training: Lead MHE, safety, warehouse process and procedure training for new starters, existing colleagues, and agency staff, including cross-training, assessments, and refresher sessions to required industry and company standards.
  • Supporting Regional Sites: Partner with regional depots and subsidiary companies to identify training needs and deliver on-site MHE training wherever possible.
  • Planning & Coordinating Programmes: Work with management to schedule, communicate, and deliver training within agreed timescales that meet operational demands.
  • Leading Engaging Inductions: Deliver compliant and structured warehouse inductions, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed and stored.
  • Maintaining Accurate Records: Keep training, testing, and certification documentation up to date in line with legislative requirements and refresher timelines.
  • Promoting a Safety-First Culture: Develop behavioural observation tools and provide coaching to improve MHE driving standards and encourage best practice.
  • Optimising Fleet Performance: Carry out daily MHE audits, coordinate remedial actions with Fleet, and help manage repair budgets through proactive checks and coaching.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and enhance training materials and delivery methods to ensure they remain effective and fit for purpose.
  • Providing Operational Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering PPE and managing locker allocations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Operational Experience: Background in warehouse, production, or customer-focused environments with hands-on operational knowledge.
  • MHE Expertise: Practical experience operating Reach Truck and Counterbalance (essential).
  • Training Delivery Skills: Confident facilitating sessions in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
  • Strong Communicator: Professional, approachable, and able to engage colleagues at all levels, from operatives to senior managers.
  • Organised & Proactive: Skilled in planning, prioritising, and adapting to changing demands within a busy 24/7 operation.
  • Coaching Capability: Able to provide constructive feedback and positively influence behaviours.
  • IT Competence: Comfortable using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexible Approach: Willing to adjust working hours, including occasional evenings, nights, and weekends to meet operational training needs.
