Section Head to help lead that journey at our Waltham Cross distribution centre.
The Role
As a Section Head, you will lead and develop a team of 8–16 colleagues, ensuring your area consistently delivers safe, accurate, and efficient warehouse operations.
You’ll take full ownership of performance within your section — driving productivity, maintaining high standards, and ensuring customer orders are completed to schedule.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll balance people management, operational delivery, and continuous improvement.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of warehouse colleagues to achieve operational targets.
- Taking ownership of departmental KPIs including productivity, accuracy, attendance and service levels.
- Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Planning and allocating resources to meet daily operational demands.
- Driving continuous improvement across quality, efficiency and customer service.
- Managing labour costs including overtime, agency usage and absence control.
- Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety, Hygiene and Environmental standards.
- Delivering clear communication and regular team briefings.
- Coaching and developing your team to support engagement and progression.
- Acting as deputy for the Senior Operations Manager when required.
- What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics leadership role (Section Head, Supervisor or similar).
- Strong people management skills with a coaching and development mindset.
- Experience managing KPIs, performance and operational targets.
- Ability to prioritise, organise and deliver under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and confident approach.
- A hands‑on, proactive leadership style.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and departments.
- Confidence in problem solving and conflict resolution.
