We are currently supporting the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a clear progression pathway into a Commercial Manager position. This role has been created as part of a structured succession plan, offering the opportunity to step into a leadership role within 6–12 months.

About the Company

Our client is a leading façade and cladding contractor delivering complex envelope packages across commercial and industrial sectors. They have built a strong reputation for quality delivery and long-standing client relationships, with a strong pipeline of secured work. As part of their long-term commercial strategy, they are now looking to bring in a Senior Quantity Surveyor who can develop into a Commercial Manager role as part of a planned transition within the team.

The Role

This is a senior commercial role focused on managing façade and cladding projects while being developed into a future Commercial Manager. You will initially support the current Commercial Manager while taking ownership of key projects, with a clear transition into leadership responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial performance of multiple façade and cladding projects
  • Take ownership of valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial targets and budgets
  • Review and manage contracts across JCT, NEC and bespoke agreements
  • Monitor project cash flow and financial performance
  • Support commercial reporting, forecasting and risk management
  • Work closely with operations, design and procurement teams
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and main contractors
  • Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
  • Gradually take on leadership responsibilities in preparation for Commercial Manager role

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within façade, cladding or wider building envelope sector
  • Strong understanding of contract forms including JCT and NEC
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects commercially
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage variations effectively
  • Commercially astute with strong financial awareness
  • Looking to step into a Commercial Manager role within the next 12–18 months
  • Able to travel to sites as required for client and project meetings
