We are currently recruiting for an experienced Flat Roofing Estimator to join a well established roofing contractor operating across the commercial and industrial roofing sector. This position will play a key role within the commercial team, responsible for pricing a range of flat roofing projects and supporting the continued growth of the business across the Midlands and surrounding regions.

Our client is a respected specialist contractor delivering flat roofing solutions across refurbishment and new build projects throughout the UK. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality roofing installations across sectors including industrial, commercial, education and public sector developments. Their work covers a wide range of flat roofing systems and they partner closely with leading manufacturers to deliver technically sound and long lasting roofing solutions. Due to continued project wins and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of a Flat Roofing Estimator.
The Role
- Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications for flat roofing projects
- Carry out material take offs and quantity measurements
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial roofing works
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and manufacturer quotations
- Liaise with internal teams including contracts managers and directors during tender preparation
- Produce competitive and commercially accurate tender submissions
- Assist with project handover to the delivery team once contracts are secured
- Work on a range of refurbishment and new build roofing schemes of varying value
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience estimating within flat roofing or the wider building envelope sector
- Good knowledge of flat roofing systems such as single ply, liquid waterproofing or built up felt
- Strong understanding of roofing project delivery and installation methods
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications confidently
- Good commercial awareness with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple tenders simultaneously
- Strong communication skills when liaising with suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams
- This role would suit an experienced Roofing Estimator or someone from a roofing contracts or quantity surveying background looking to focus on estimating
