Reynco Ltd are delighted to be supporting a specialist roofing and building-envelope contractor who are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to take the lead on a major Energy-From-Waste facility in North London. This role is fully site-based and focuses on proactive safety leadership, RAMS oversight, and continuous improvement across a technically complex, multi-discipline construction programme worth in excess of £28m.
About the Company
Our client is a leading specialist within the roofing, cladding and building-envelope sector, with decades of experience delivering complex industrial, energy and infrastructure schemes across the UK. Their core expertise includes single-ply systems, large-scale composite cladding installation, rainscreen façades, fire-wall construction and full envelope delivery on live, high-risk construction environments. They are known for strong safety culture, programme reliability and hands-on technical understanding of high-value energy projects.
The Role
This position will take full responsibility for site-based HSE management on a large Energy-From-Waste project. Installation works include single-ply roof systems, composite panels, fire-wall construction and multiple high-risk work areas. The HSE Manager must be able to review, amend and lead implementation of important H&S documentation where required (RAMS etc).
Key responsibilities include:
- Daily presence on site, proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities
- Safety leadership across up to 50+ operatives at peak programme delivery
- Reviewing, updating and managing RAMS and method statements
- Conducting site audits, inspections, safety walks and toolbox talks
- Attending contractor-led coordination meetings twice daily (7:30am and 4:00pm)
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, codes, standards and documentation requirements
- Working closely with subcontractors, site management, and client HSE teams to maintain best-in-class safety performance
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a visible, proactive safety professional who is confident out on site, able to influence behaviour and ensure compliance without slowing the programme. This isn’t a desk-based H&S role, so candidates will need to be able to demonstrate through the recruitment process experience of proactive working within a similar role.
Minimum requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar HSE position on large construction projects
- HSE qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction (or equivalent)
- Fully knowledgeable on all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and standards
Additionally, you will be:
- Experienced in industrial or energy construction environments
- Familiar with roofing, façade, cladding or steelwork packages (highly desirable)
- Strong in communication, documentation management and RAMS process control
- Capable of influencing subcontractors and leading a positive safety culture onsite
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Major Energy-From-Waste scheme with full envelope scope and high-value delivery
- Real authority as the site safety lead with daily client and contractor interaction
- Administrative support onsite for paperwork
- Dynamic working environment, safety ownership and visible results on a landmark project
